Irritating Day – 181/365

181/365

Today was a very irritating day. You see, I knew the Metro had fixed up new bus lines near my house, and I even checked the Metro website last night to make sure I get to work the right way. So, I got off the stop that the website told me to stop, but the bus I was supposed to transfer did not exist anywhere! However, both fortunately and unfortunately, the busses that continued on south goes to El Monte Metro Station. Fortunately because I could ask for directions at the metro station. Unfortunately because I had to wait longer for a Foothill Transit to pass by since I had gotten a transfer that is only acceptable on that boss. I managed getting to El Monte Station, and I had to pay an extra dollar to go another Metro bus, but I still had to wait for another half an hour for that bus to come. All this trouble made me an hour late to work. I had a lot of stuff to do today, and many of them were new, so I had to learn them all. I wasn’t very happy because it took me a while, and I didn’t want to screw up.

Apparently, I wasn’t the only one that had an irritating day. My mom called me during lunch hour and told me she accidentally bumped my brother’s car with her car this morning. She was feeling very awful about it. She blamed it on an early morning phone call that no one was answering, so she kepting on saying “hello?” until she called it the end. Then when I called my brother to pick me up, he was mad about not having the right ink catridge for the printer (when it was right). He needed to print out confirmations for Anime Expo tomorrow. Then he tried to start his car, but it wouldn’t work, so he had to drive the new car. He wasn’t happy about that either because he isn’t used to the new car. This made him half an hour late to pick me up, so I was pretty irritated while waiting for him, like what was he taking so long? But now we’re all back home, and I really hope the irritation stops for all three of us. I’m exhausted!

New Car – 179/365

179/365

Both my mom and my dad have been wanting to get me a car since last year, but they didn’t due to financial reasons. I’ve been okay with it, though, because most of my transportation is done with my two feet, and I don’t go to places a lot anyway. However, my mom felt the need of actually getting a car this time around because of several reasons:

1. I haven’t really driven (or, at least, non-constantly) since I got my driver’s license, and that was back in my senior year of high school. My mom feels that if I don’t get a car now, it will be late for me to get used to driving again by the time I graduate out of college and get a full-time job.

2. We all know that the economy isn’t doing so well, and that is affecting the car business as well. My mom found a deal with her coworker on leasing a car. It was less than $199 per month for three years.

And that was how my mom got a new car, which is a Honda Accord! It is my family’s first non-Toyota, and it feels weird for me, but it’s cool to have a third car in the family now. Hehe. It was going to be for my brother, but my brother wants to keep his 1997 Camry. I will be driving the Camry first until I get used to driving, and then I will be driving the new car. I can’t wait, though. I’ll be sure to take good care of the new car, too. I just hope my brother doesn’t stuff more receipts and other papers in there, like he does with his own car.

Second Day – 176/365

176/365

Today was my second day of work. It was better than the first day, mainly because the strong smell in the air wasn’t really there. I also had to take a photo of the view from the office. Just because. It really isn’t the most beautiful sight either. Haha. Seriously, though. I can even see smog in the air.

For some reason, my manager keeps on calling me “小朋友” instead of my name. It means “Little Friend,” by the way. I don’t know why he keeps on calling me that besides the fact I’m the youngest in the office, but it’s pretty weird for him to call me that. It’s also pretty annoying because it’s not my name. Anyway, I did a number of paperwork again, and I even had to connect these small rubber letters on a custom stamp. It reminded me of the Movable Type. Only not really.

102.7 FM is notoriously known for repeated music every half an hour. In fact, I’ve been listening to these songs over and over while doing work. (Yes, I spent my time linking them differently.) But suddenly, Michael Jackson died this afternoon, so 102.7 FM started to play all Michael Jackson songs in respect to him. It was nice to have different music, but it’s so sad to hear that the King of Pop had passed away. R.I.P. Michael Jackson. You brought excellent music.
