Finally, a working mouse! Alright, so I did go watch Tricia’s performance on Tuesday. It was called the SPHAM (Students for Pilipino American History Month) Showcase. You would think that having the experience of going to Thinzar’s Songwriter Showcase would tell me to get a telephoto lens (or at least borrow one from the Daily Sundial) to take closer photos. *sigh* Ah well. The entire showcase was very entertaining to watch, even though I didn’t stay for the entire thing because it was running late. I was very surprised how popular V.ENT was amongst the audience. All these girls who sat around me just started yelling and everything. Haha. It was amazing.

For the month of October, I had been working on my CSUN performer (or athlete) project for my J450 Advanced Photojournalism class. I did it on my friend, Patricia Bernal, who is a hip hop dancer in a dance team called Volunteer Entertainment. V.ENT, for short. She had recently joined V.ENT earlier this semester, and she was in another dance group called FASMODE (short for FASA Modern) before. Unfortunately, I didn’t capture the moments where she was in FASMODE in the Soundslides, but it was mainly because I didn’t have any photos of them. Otherwise, the Soundslides presentation would’ve been longer as well. However, I still liked how the Soundslides turned out. The both of us have very busy schedules, so for the amount of time we helped each other, I think it still turned out nicely. I just hope that she likes it, too, because I actually haven’t shown it to her yet!
If I could do anything different about the Soundslides presentation, I would’ve made it longer. I would get photos of her when she was in FASMODE. I actually do have the interview recorded where she talked about it. I just didn’t add it in. I also would have gone to one of her performances, especially the one that was in Los Angeles, just to capture the performance side. It would’ve been even more awesome if I did go to Las Vegas with her, but that’s even less likely. Haha. And that’s about it, really.
I am actually going to go watch one of Tricia’s performances later today (considering it’s already Tuesday) at school because she invited me, and I feel like I should go to check it out. I had already turned in my project, but I don’t think that should stop me from not doing anything more about it. Not only I can take more photos for experience but also just being there as part of the experience is also very rewarding. I can’t wait.

Avo’s craving for boba last weekend got me craving for some as well. I am actually not too fond of the milk tea as much as I do with Taiwanese green tea, but Tea Station can make it with both milk tea and green tea together, and that is what I ordered. Ee, it was so good! It is now my new favorite drink. Unfortunately, I don’t think a lot of places make it like this.

I had beef noodle soup the last time I came to Tea Station, so I decided to order rice this time. I saw that they had braised pork with bamboo shoots. It sounded good, so I ordered some. The flavors were delicious, but I think it was a little bit too oily for my own tastes. It was kind of expected to be oily because of the part of the pork they used, and bamboos tend to be more oily as well.

You get rice and three random side dishes, depending on the day of the week, which I think it’s pretty nice. I don’t think they’ll tell you what they have unless you ask them or your food gets onto the table, though.
