Updaaaaate. Haha. It actually feels good to update, but it really depends if I even have anything to show you guys. So, I actually have something! It was actually very great timing because I stayed at school to take the Upper Division Writing Proficiency Exam (UDWPE) this weekend, and I got to hang out with my friends (not from home) that came to celebrate my birthday again.

Niki, Bridget, Kanie, Suren, Avo and I went to eat at this restaurant called SanSai Japanese Grill in Sherman Oaks. The price of their food was very cheap, and it looked like they had a wide variety of Japanese food as well. I ordered the Steak Bowl (above), and it came with a salad of your choice as well. How cool is that? This meal alone cost around $7 at most. It tasted good, too, like the beef was moist, the salad was very refreshing.

Niki ordered the Spicy Sashimi Salad because Suren requested it for her. I had a few bites of the sashimi (raw fish), which was the red-orange looking mix, in the photo, and it tasted alright. It was a tad bit spicy, so I think if I ate more, I would’ve needed something to go along with it. I don’t think I would really order sashimi from this restaurant, though, because the restaurant is not your usual Japanese restaurant. I’m not saying it’s bad, it’s more just my preference.

Thanks to Suren for hooking everyone up at the ice skating rink that he works at. We all got in for free! We also got these tiny mittens for free, too. It was so nice of him to offer this. In this group photo (left to right), you have Bridget, Avo, me, Kanie, Niki’s two friends, and Niki herself.

Do any of you remember this entry where I posted a very crappy photo of my cell phone for my ART455A Advertising Photography class? (Probably not since that entry was a month ago.) Well, the photo above is my final shot that I had submitted to the professor. Compare/contast? I don’t like both of them either way. This was such a painful assignment to do, especially since we were comparing the photo we took with the actual advertised photo. I am so glad to be done with it. Haha.

The next photo assignment was to take a photo of anything on a white table top. I don’t really like how this one turned out because of the bottom part. That part turned out a little grey for some reason. I also could’ve used some other item that I really liked, but I didn’t have anything at the time other than some cookies. I had fun experimenting with basic advertising style, though.

The most recent assignment was fashion accessory with any background other than plain white, black and grey. I suppose that this one is my favorite out of everything else that I’ve taken for this class. There are a couple of things I would’ve done differently, though. I would’ve provided my own background flowers other than using Leiann’s, and I was actually thinking about going to Wal-Mart last weekend to do so, but it really slipped out of my mind. The gold fabric belongs to Professor Miller, and I just love it because it’s so pretty with the sandals. On the sandals itself, I would’ve made it at an angle to show the shoes more, but I did get a good angle out of the straps. The light could also be a little bit warmer overall.
So, this is my progress on my ART455A Advertising Photography class. I like it, and it is a very hard field to be in. I still don’t like setting up the lights and booms (light generators), mainly because they’re heavy, and I really don’t have a lot of upper body strength. Haha. I really have to push myself, though. I wouldn’t get anything done if I don’t push myself. On that note, I should also be typing out a study guide for my SOC304OL midterm that I have to take before Sunday night. *sigh* I’ve been so procrastinating and lazy at the same time lately. It’s so terrible. I really have to get studying and working, so I won’t fail!

I didn’t take a lot of photos at Anime Expo this year. There really isn’t a reason why. I just didn’t. However, I hope you all enjoy the photos nonetheless.

Here’s an “aerial” view of the exhibit hall that was taken in one of the autograph rooms. It was pretty cool to see that many people from such view.

Haha. For some reason, this photo amuses me since they were both on the phone. These cosplayers are from a video game called BlazBlue.
