KABA Modern at UC Irvine

KABA Modern

Tin, a colleague of mine in my AAS345 Contemporary Issues in Asian American Studies class, asked me and a couple of others if they were interested of going to the KABA Modern break dancing event that was at UC Irvine, and I figured it would be fun to check out, so the both of us went all the way there last night. I thought Tin was crazy because Northridge to Irvine isn’t a near drive. In fact, it’s at least 85 miles one way, so it was very nice of him to drive all the way there and then back. He had to do his project, too, so it was fair game.

Whee, zoom~ I brought my Nikon COOLPIX P80 because it was a lot lighter to carry (compared to Nikon D60), and the optical zoom is a lot farther. The biggest downfall about it is you definitely need steady hands to get a clear photo with the long range zoom.

Here’s Tin break dancing! He was asking me if I saw him do such thing before, and I didn’t. It was pretty cool. He also thought this photo looks pretty nice, so I guess I can print him a copy and give it to him in class someday.

Year of the Tiger

Year of the TIger

恭喜發財! Happy Chinese New Year, everyone!

My dad came back from Taiwan last Friday to celebrate Chinese New Year with the rest of the family, and we had a big dinner (thanks to Mom) together last night. It was nice. It was also my first time drinking alcohol with the rest of my family since I’m now 21, and I can tell you that I absolutely hate cognac. Haha. It’s just so overpowering. Yeck. So during our dinner last night, I told my dad that I thought that his little cute tiger piggy bank that he brought from Taiwan was a cat, and he got “mad” at me. He was like: “What are you talking about?! It’s a tiger!” Then my mom said that she thought the same as I did. Haha, it was great. What was even more funny is that my dad was born in the year of the tiger, so now I refer it as a cat. Hehehe, but seriously. Doesn’t the piggy bank look like a cat to you?

Morning Condensation

OMG

Hopefully waking up early will help my messed up sleeping patterns that I have been getting recently. That is, if I don’t take a nap in the afternoon, because I think naps are the main reason why I can’t seem to sleep all the way through during the night. I would wake up at four or five in the morning, and I couldn’t get back to sleep. Well, in today’s case, I woke up because it was colder this morning than it has been in the other mornings. My alarm clock also has a temperature on it, so it told me that it was 66°F indoors. So I tried to look outside but got very thick condensation, which made me want to write something on it, and here you go. Fun stuff.
