Katsu Don
I came back home from work, and my brother wanted to go out to eat, so my brother, his friend Michael and I went to Tamaya. I wasn’t really in the mood for ramen, especially since the bowls they serve the ramen in are usually pretty big. So I ordered Katsu Don, which is a fried pork cutlet with rice. They also came with a side of miso soup and salad, so that was nice. The bowl of Katsu Don was actually a pretty big bowl, too, and I didn’t even get to finish it! I bet that’s going to be my dinner at work tomorrow, though. At least I hope so because I don’t want my brother to eat it. Anyway, I was satisfied that I got Katsu Don since it tasted pretty good. I would definitely order it again if I’m in the mood for some.

Virgo Necklace
I don’t wear jewelry a whole lot; in fact, I only got my ears pierced last December, and I had to wear these pair of studs that I didn’t even consider them that pretty looking for about four months before wearing another pair of studs that my mom got at Ross for about another month or so. I did buy these pair of earrings before my graduation, though, and I find them pretty looking. I didn’t take any photo of them, though. Now I don’t really wear any earrings unless I’m going out. Anyway, enough about earrings since this is about the necklace I bought at the mall yesterday. As I said before, I don’t wear jewelry a lot. I actually don’t like to buy them since I find them expensive, and unless it’s something I really like, I wouldn’t get it. I went to check out this isle that they had at Macy’s and found this necklace that happened to say Virgo on it. I was like: “Oooh, I’m a Virgo” and looked to see how the necklace was like. I actually liked how simple it looked with the charms. So I think I’m also going to begin to take photos of jewelry whenever I get some. It can really help me with my product photography, too, except this was taken under my small lamp next to my bed, so this one doesn’t really count. Haha.
Liang’s Village Cuisine
Mom loves to use food as an excuse for me to drive more often, so we went to a Taiwanese restaurant that recently opened in Arcadia called Liang’s Village Cuisine last night. It was hard to choose what to eat since a lot of the foods were close to home. The first dish we ordered was duck noodle soup, and it actually was pretty good. It wasn’t too flavorful and flavorless. The amount of duck pieces they gave was not bad either.
We also ordered these fried pork slices. Mom said that they used another part of the pork to make this in Taiwan, but she said if they used that part of the pork here in the states, it might be too fatty and oily. The flavor of this was pretty good. I think it’s because of the seasoning of the batter that they used to fry in.
The next dish we ordered was the fried tofu with soy sauce, and they also came with this hot sauce that I find it tasty. It almost tasted like some sort of salsa when you add it together with the cilantro on top.
Last but not least, we ordered pork chop with rice, which is a popular dish in Taiwan. That quickly became my lunch today since we couldn’t finish our food at the restaurant. It tasted alright. I felt like the pork piece they had could be better, but it wasn’t bad. Overall, I thought the restaurant was alright. If I were ever to go back there to eat again, I would probably get the duck noodle soup and the tofu again since they were pretty good. Other than that, the rest of the food seemed nothing too special to me.
