Night Blooming Cereus

NIght Blooming Cereus

Two nights ago, my mom told me to go outside and check out the night blooming cereus flower since it was blooming. This flower only blooms during night time, and it is known to bloom only once a year in the middle of summer. Once the sun rises on the next day, the flower closes up, and it will never open again until next time. It has a very fragrant scent, which I really like smelling since it just smells good and not overpowering. I really hope that it grows again sometime because when I went to check it out, it only had one flower, and it was already wide open. The most I’ve ever seen at once was three, and it was a wonderful sight to see. I also want to be able to watch it when it is just about to open because I’ve heard that you can see such movement. Night blooming cereus is truly one of my most favorite flowers because it is so unique.

153/365, May Brief, 365 Days Project

153/365

I went to watch Up in Disney digital 3D last night in AMC Century City with my brother and his friends, and it was such a great movie! The first ten minutes of the movie really got me into it. It was also awesome that every time Carl Fredricksen (the old man) grunts because it reminds me of my brother. Hahaha! His friends joke about it, too. I can say more about it, but that would be spoilery, so I will just stop.

April Brief

I almost forgot to type up a brief that I have for every month!

April started out with a bad joke with the dorm fires in building 12. I didn’t even know about the fire until Thinzar called me, saying that she saw it on FOX News. No one was hurt, even though there really was a fire, and the fire was put out quickly. Then I did a whole lot of documentary with Jonathan during spring break. I also got a haircut, and I really like it a lot. In fact, I’m still surprised that my hair got that long, but now it’s gone. I wrote an opinion piece about some of the food at school, and I got a pretty negative comment about it on the Daily Sundial website, but I didn’t mind since that’s what opinions are for. I finally changed my cell phone after six years, and the texting plan made texting more addicting to use. Jonathan and I also got our Blurb books, and it looks so nice. Now it’s May, and I have less than five days of school left. I hope that I find things to do after school ends. You’ll see if I do when I update.
