Kuribayashi Minami & CooRie Mini Concert
I didn’t go to Anime Expo at all this year, but my brother did, so he and his friends took photos at a mini concert that was held by Kuribayashi Minami and CooRie (also known as Rino). My brother seemed to have enjoyed the concert. He said that it was so awesome to hear “Tsubasa wa Pleasure Line” (opening to Chrono Crusade) live. Personally, I think it’s so cool that he got so close to Kuribayashi Minami. Too bad I didn’t go. Maybe I will go next year if Anime Expo brings out even more awesome guests, especially since I think it will be its 20th anniversary. Time sure flies! (These photos turned out to be not bad, huh?! I was pretty impressed! Haha.)
the pillows at The Glass House
Thinzar invited me to go watch the pillows’ concert at The Glass House on May 23rd, so I went with her and her boyfriend Kuan. At first we weren’t sure if we could bring cameras into the concert, so we put the cameras back into the car. Then we saw many other people bringing out their digital cameras, so after the first band, Kuan went back to get his stuff and my camera. Thank you!
The first band was POP CHOCOLAT, and here are some CD’s of theirs. They seem to be a pretty big favorite among people, so many of their stuff were sold out, and the band even had to burn copies of their music for people. I thought their music was pretty good, and the voice was also nice. They also seemed to connect with the audience pretty well. Check out their autograph. So cute~
The second that played was Monokuro. They seemed more energetic in terms of what’s going on stage than being more musically talented. I thought theirs was okay.
The third band was called Noodles, an all girl band, so there is a girl on the bass, a girl on the vocals/guitar, and another one on the drums. Their music was alright, but they seem disconnected from the audience a tad bit.
Last but not least, the pillows came on! I thought Sawao Yamanaka’s shirt had some interesting words on it, so I took a photo of his back when he was getting ready with his guitar and everything. Haha.
And what’s awesome about The Glass House in Pomona is the fact that you can stand on the side. The downfall is that you are not necessarily really close to the stage, but when you have a far zoom camera, it kind of makes up for it.
7th Songwriter Showcase
Two days after graduation, I went to Cal Poly Pomona to check out the Songwriter Showcase! Thinzar’s a big part of it, backstage and on stage, this year, and I went to it last year, too, just about the same time. Thank goodness that Thinzar had her camera because really, stupid me forgot the bring the battery for my camera! You see, I had my camera ready to go and even brought it, but I found out I didn’t even bring my battery. *headdesk* Anyway, the Songwriter Showcase was very enjoyable. There was not one that I didn’t really like, and everyone is so musically talented. I kind of wished I took more photos of Thinzar and Claudia performing, but then it was my very first time listening to a song that Thinzar personally wrote, so I paid attention to that more. Perhaps I did the better thing, haha. Well, hope you all enjoy these photos. I’ve had to get used to Thinzar’s Cybershot, but they’re not bad, I think…
