Rose Parade Float Decorating

Happy New Year’s Eve! Long time, no write. I figured I should write something before 2010, especially since I haven’t been writing anything here for at least a month.
So, I hope everyone is having a good holiday. I passed all my classes, even though there were some grades that I did not expect – both positively and negatively. My Christmas was alright, nothing special, since my family doesn’t really celebrate it, but I did get a delicious home cooked meal from my mom before she went to her friend’s place to eat. And now I’m not doing much on New Year’s Eve. I just watched the New Year countdown for Taiwan’s Taipei 101 Tower with my mom, and it was awesome. Other than that, I also hung out with some of my friends on some days, even though it is not as much as I would’ve liked, but it’s fine.
Last Monday, Sophia and I went to Pasadena to decorate rose floats for the Rose Parade. I thought it was kind of silly to go with her because she was signed up underneath Cal Poly Universities, and I don’t go to either of them. Oh well. At least I go to a California State University? Haha.
When we got there, they put us to work to separate the wood bark. The thin ones are the good ones, and the thick ones are the bad ones. It made me realize that if you were allergic to something that has to do with nature, then maybe rose float decorating isn’t made for you.
The wood bark are used for the monkey, which is on the left side of this photo. Haha, can you imagine the detail work on that? It’s pretty awesome but not as awesome as…
